Luis D. Murillo-Soto was born in San José, Costa Rica, in 1976. He received a Bachelor's degree in electromechanical engineering in 1999 and a Master's degree in computing engineering in 2004 from the Costa Rica Institute of Technology (TEC). In 2016 received an M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Costa Rica, and he finished the Dr.-Eng—degree in Photovoltaic Systems from TEC in 2022. From 2000 to 2002, he worked as Field Service Engineer in Unisys Corp. In 2004, he joined TEC to work as an instructor at Electromechanical Engineering School. Since 2016 he has been a researcher at the Laboratory of Electronic Systems for the Sustainability (SESLab) in the TEC. He is the author of several papers and articles related to fault modeling in solar systems, fault detection, and classification techniques.
